The North Coburg Rebels are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced coach to lead our women's baseball program. We are committed to growing the women's game and are looking for someone who shares that passion.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a voluntary coaching position responsible for the development, performance, and wellbeing of the Rebels women's baseball squad. The coach will work closely with team management, support staff, and players to create a positive, high-performance environment.
While the role is unpaid, any coach who is also a registered player with the Rebels will have their club fees waived in recognition of their contribution.
Importantly, the head coach will be joining an existing coaching structure that includes an established woman assistant coach. The successful applicant must be collaborative, respectful of the existing setup, and committed to building a strong working relationship with the assistant coach and the systems already in place.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan and deliver training sessions tailored to the needs of the group
• Develop individual and team performance across all aspects of the game
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and respectful team culture
• Work collaboratively with the assistant coach to deliver a consistent and unified coaching approach
• Communicate effectively with players, parents/guardians (where applicable), and club management
• Manage game-day preparation, strategy, and in-game decisions
• Contribute to the long-term growth of the Rebels women's program
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Demonstrated experience coaching baseball or softball at a competitive level
• Previous experience coaching women and/or girls is highly regarded
• Understanding of the communication styles, motivational approaches, and cultural dynamics that best support women athletes
• A collaborative approach and proven ability to work effectively within an existing coaching team
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Current or willingness to obtain relevant coaching accreditation
• Valid Working With Children Check (or equivalent)
• A genuine passion for developing the women's game
